Pacifier or not?

All the books I have been reading has advised not to give a newborn a pacifier until he/she is 2-3 weeks old, in order to not cause nipple confusion in breast-fed babies. Therefore, we held off until this weekend.

Why did we wait so long????? It has been a great help during Jake's fussy periods and also gets him to fall asleep a little faster during his 3AM feedings.

(Excuse the pink pacifier tether... this is what happens when you don’t find out the ender of the baby when registering)

  1. Aren't they heaven?? The only tough part is taking them away, if you ever figure that out let me know, I have a three year old that still has his.

  2. Definitely a MUST in my book...though the 3am waking to replace a lost paci does get annoying after a while. Both of our boys took a paci from day 1 and had no nipple confusion issues. (Now we have one thumb sucker and one who gave up the paci at 3 months...and they both nursed until 8 months) )Hope you're getting some sleep, Jake is adorable!!
