One Week Old (33 Weeks Gestation)

A week ago today, the newest Burchette made his debut.  He has spent the last 7 days in the NICU where we have seen him steadily progress.  Over the course of the week, Joey has been taken off supplemental oxygen and is successfully breathing on his own.  He was tested with high bilirubin levels, started phototherapy, and now discontinued that treatment.  A feeding tube was inserted and he has progressively increased the amount of milk he takes in (and poops out!)  Joey surpassed his birth weight of 4 lbs, 5 oz!

Scott and I are so thankful for the progress Joe has made so far and that God has blessed us with 2 wonderful boys!!!
