This weekend was the annual Forest Park Great Balloon Race. It is a weekend full of activities with a Balloon Glow on Friday night and the Race on Saturday. The Balloon Glow is where all the balloons are inflated at dusk and the night sky is lit up when all the balloon blast hot air into them to keep them inflated. The temperature was unseasonable chilly so by the time we all met up walked around it was 8:30PM. We had plans for dinner on the Hill, but the wait was almost an hour. On Saturday morning, I went to finalize our wedding cake… every Saturday, the bakery has free samples. Yummy! Then, Scott and I went to the Cubs v. Cards game with our friend, Rob. Rob moved to Memphis a year ago and is now back in St. Louis. Saturday was another chilly day and after a Cards loss, we took the MetroLink into Central West End. For dinner, we went to Tom’s Bar for a couple beers and bar appetizers.
The rest of the weekend was spent relaxing. We rented movies for Saturday night and stayed in. Scott caught a cold on Friday and on Saturday it seemed to get worse. Sunday we finished weekend chores and Scott rested up.
Guess what?! Scott passed along his cold to me. Now I am sick and it sucks!
