This weekend was a busy weekend for us...
It all started with dinner on Friday night. We met our friends, Nico & Ines and Sebastian, Mariana, & kids at Cunetto's. Scott and I had to confirm our rehearsal dinner with the restaurant and what a better excuse to go out to dinner. It was also an opportunity to celebrate Ines & Nico getting one step closer to becoming home-owners. Scott and I arrived a little early to get our names in the que. By the time the rest of the group arrived, we were ready to get our table. Dinner was great as always and the two boys (Santiago & Mathias) did great and allowed the adults to visit. Over dinner, we all made plans for the next day...
The next day, Scott and I ran wedding errands in the morning. Around 4pm, we met Sebastian, Mariana, Santiago, Mathias, Ines, & Nico at Eckhert's Farm for some apple-picking. We rode out to the orchid to find that there weren't any apples on the trees. Belleville, Illinois suffered from a damaging frost early this spring that ruined the crop of peaches, strawberries, and apples. Luckily, they trucked in apples from a nearby orchid so we were still able to buy some. After the drive back, the Helbig family came over to the house for a barbeque. I made us an apple pie to enjoy. The men grilled bratwurst for the kids. We fed them and put them down to sleep. Then we grilled ribs and steaks for us. By the time the adults sat down for dinner is was almost 9PM. I guess hanging out with Argentinians we will have to learn to eating a later dinner. The four of us sat around talking until almost midnight.
On Sunday, Scott and I hung out together. I was leaving for a business trip after in the afternoon and wasn't getting back until Monday. Scott was off to Brazil on Monday as well and we wouldn't catch each other. Scott will be back about 2 weeks before the wedding. This leaves me with all the final planning to do on my own. Good thing I got majority of the stuff done earlier!!
