Today, Jacob is four months old! I know I said this in my previous monthly post, but he is growing so fast and time is flying by. Our little man has really progressed to sleeping through the night. Over the last couple weeks, he whines around 2 am, but quickly falls back asleep. Then, he wakes at 5 am because he is starving. I don't mind getting up at all because it is our quiet time together before the hectic day begins. Normally, Jake will go back to sleep for another hour while I shower and get ready for work. This is good for him since he is still not napping well at day care. Hopefully, he will get learn to nap next month...
We went to the doctor's office for Jacob's 4 month check up this afternoon. He now weighs 13 lbs and 4 oz, which puts him in the 19 percentile for weight. He is also 24.5 inches, which 36 percentile. Our little guy!!!
Jake has been rolling over this past month. If he is on his tummy and you turn away for just a second, when you look back, he will be on his back. He hasn't attempted to roll from back to tummy yet, but we are waiting for the day.
Jacob has not really been fond of his pacifier any more. When we put it in his mouth, he will only suck on it for 30 seconds before he spits it out. However, he has found his fingers, thumb, or whole fist to suck on. He normally has it in his mouth while he is "telling" us about his day. Jacob has been more verbal lately and he voice inflections sound like his is telling us a very exciting story. Scott and I find this endearing and typically laugh at ourselves at how excited Jake gets.
Also this month, we successfully had a road trip back to Detroit this. Jacob was a rock star in the car!! We left super early in the morning and he slept most of the time. He only started to get cranky when we had about an hour left in the car. I couldn't blame the kid for getting antsy... I would too if I had to be constrained.
Every night, I lay in bed thankful that we were given such a wonderful son. God has truly blessed us. Then every morning when I wake up, I thank Him again for giving us another day together! I cherish it to no end. I couldn't imagine our life without our little man.
