Last Month

It’s been a while since my last update so I will try to condense this into a short message…

Our friends, Brian and Lisa had there first baby back on January 9th. They had a beautiful baby girl named, Mya Nicole. She was in the hospital for quite some time so Scott and I figured that we would let them settle in before we visited. I found out while in New Orleans for the Cotton Beltwide Conference (for work). Congratulations on the new addition to the Schadler family!!

While in New Orleans, I ran into our friend, Rob. He used to work with Scott here in St. Louis, but moved to Memphis about a year and a half ago. He and his girlfriend (now fiancée) were recently engaged and planning a St. Louis wedding. Congrats to Rob and Denise!!

Over the weekend of Jan 20th, Scott and I traveled to the Quad Cities to visit Scott’s family. His niece, Olivia, was having her 1st Birthday Party. We stayed with Dave and Ronda (one of my bridesmaid) for the weekend. On Saturday, Scott have Olivia her birthday present, which I am sure she will enjoy… a ceiling fan in her parent’s bedroom. The handyman that he is, Scott promised Ronda that he would fix her light fixture. The whole thing was broken so we all headed out to Menard’s. Instead of buying a simple replacement, Scott bought a ceiling fan that operated via remote control. He and Dave put it up on Saturday. We had every intention to go visit Bird and Lisa while in Iowa; however the weatherman felt differently. On Sunday morning, the roads were still icy and wet that had to nix the Cedar Rapids visit. We plan on going to visit real soon.

The following weekend, my matron of honor, Meghan, and my cousin, Rodel, came to visit this weekend. I have known Meghan since high school and a couple years ago, she married Ro. They came in on Friday afternoon and we went to Fitz's for lunch and a root beer float. On Saturday, we headed over to Anheuser-Busch for the brewery tour and then to the Melting Pot for some yummy dinner. After stuffing our faces, we headed back home where the boys played Xbox 360 all night. On Sunday, we went to church to show Ro and Meg where our ceremony would be and then to Marriott West to show them our reception hall. It was great to have them come to visit. Hope that they come back soon and more often.
