In August of 2002, I moved out to Muscatine, Iowa for a role with Monsanto Company. Scott, also working for Monsanto, had already been in Iowa for a year. He and I worked together and after some time fell in love. Unfortunately, once we started dating, Scott was transferred to St. Louis. We did the long-distance relationship thing. That wasn't the greatest, but in the end, we made it through and we are a stronger couple for it. After a year, I was transferred to St. Louis which is where we have been living for the last couple years.
Our Engagement:
Scott and I went on vacation with my parents in June 2006 to the Colorado Rocky Mountains. On June 22nd, after a full day of hiking, Scott and I were relaxing by the campfire when he told me that he wanted to give me something all day long, but couldn't find the right moment. He pulled a diamond ring out of his pocket and asked me to marry him. I said yes and then ran to wake up my parents. This is a picture of that night right after he proposed.
Our Wedding:
Scott and I were married on November 10, 2007 in St. Louis. We had a great time, sharing the weekend with everyone that traveled in. We are so blessed to have such loving family and friends.
Our family:
It was our one-year anniversary when we learned that we were expecting our first child. When I finally went to the doctor's, he informed us that I was already 13 weeks along! I couldn't believe that the first trimester was long gone. The rest of my preganacy was just as easy! On May 11, 2009, Scott and I were blessed with a healthy baby boy. Jacob Ronald was born at 4:27pm, weighing in at 7 lbs, and measuring 21 inches long.
